Aboriginal Graduate Scholarship 2021

The Aboriginal Graduate Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship that is awarded to Aboriginal graduate students who are engaged in full-time study or research leading to a graduate degree. Incoming and currently enrolled Graduate Aboriginal students, which include Canadian First Nations, Métis or Inuit students, are eligible to apply for this funding. Students are required to apply through the annual competition.

Number of Scholarships

Duration of Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded as a one-time award per degree program.

  • Master’s students must have completed, as of December 31 of the year of application, no more than 24 months of study in the master’s program for which they are requesting funding.
  • PhD students must have completed, as of December 31 of the year of application, no more than 48 months of study in the doctoral program for which they are requesting funding.

Scholarship Description / Details

  • This scholarship is a merit-based scholarship that is awarded to Aboriginal graduate students who are engaged in full-time study or research leading to a graduate degree.
  • This scholarship provides $10,000 as a one-time grant per degree program.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 76% as calculated by the College of Graduate Studies
  • Applicants must be a citizen of Canada
