ACT is a competitor of SAT, it is primarily a standardized test that assess the student’s skills that are needed to be required in Untied States colleges and Universities. It is considered to be an indicator, it signifies that whether a student is applicable for the test or not? Basically, it involves questions related to multiple choice questions that are more related to the educational background that were used to be done at college level. On the contrary, the sole purpose is the undergraduate admissions in U.S. colleges.

Who developed it? Act was mainly developed in 1959 by ACT – American College testing, who named it ACT too.

What’s the usage of ACT?When it comes to the usage of ACT, it is more widely used in United States on the other hand, SAT has a well-known morale in East. There are so many societies which accepted ACT like in Triple nine Society and American Mensa.

How many Divisions it holds? It mainly contains four sections, which are as under:

  1. Science Reasoning: It actually assess the science related issues, the capabilities of a student regarding science analysis and problem- solving capabilities; 35 minutes
  2. Reading: when it comes to reading, it mainly assess reading capabilities by giving reading comprehension to students and reading related exercises.; 35 minutes
  3. Mathematics: in mathematics section, it mainly checks the math skills of a student more related to geometry, algebra, addition, basic mathematics and trigonometry; 60 minutes
  4. English: in the tunnel of English, it mainly measures up the skills related to language, language usage and the rhetorical skills in general. As far as the duration is concerned, 45 minutes are assigned to it.
  5. Optional Writing test: it is basically not included in the score but it includes one essay. It mainly involves the assessment of writing skills; 30 minutes.

In total, there are 3 hours an d25 minutes for the student to solve the answer sheet.

Scoring Criteria in ACT! Well! When it comes to the scoring criteria in ACT, there are different criteria for scores in all the sections. It varies from 1 to 36 points. When the score gets in total, the aggregative points are 36. In general, all sections included in the score so that no other section’s point gets mingled with another one.

How calculation is being performed?As far as the calculation is concerned, all the correct answers gets calculated from all sections and then converted into scale scores.

What is the average and required score in ACT? Mostly, the average score varies from 1 to 18. So, this is the average score which many of the students attain but when it comes to the admission of students in colleges and universities, the required score varies from 27 to 31 points. Which is now the basic requirements for the universities.

Where would I give my test? Now, here there is no exactly specific date for ACT rather the exam can be taken several times per year. Why is it so? Because the location matters a lot manly the geographic one. When it comes to the test centers, they all are located in United States and worldwide.
