Biography of Alexander Hamilton

Early Life

Alexander Hamilton Founder of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation was born in West Indies on 11th January 1755. He lost his parents and became an orphan at the very early age of just 11 years. He was very famous for his abilities and efficiency in his community that was the reason he was sent by the people to the North American mainland for the purpose of his education. He got his early education from the King’s College which is now famous as the Columbia University and situated in New York City.

Early Career

He started his career from politics and after serving in army during the American Revolutionary War. He was appointed after that war into the Congress of the Confederation from New York.

Founder of Bank of New York

He worked very hard in the field of politics with several presidents of America. During his stay in the Congress of Federation he decided to get separate from there and start the practice of law and after sometime he founded a bank with the name of the Bank of New York in 1784.

The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation is a multinational bank of the United States. This is commonly referred with the name of BNY Mellon. The service provided by this bank is related to the field of finance. The financial services from the company were started after the month of July of 2007 when the company observed a merger between The New York Bank and Mellon Financial Corporation. There are six main sectors according to the services provided by the bank. These are asset management, advisory services, broker-dealer, asset servicing, issuance services, wealth management, and treasury services.

As far as ranking is concerned this bank is the largest deposit bank in the whole world.

Death

He died on 12th July, 1804.
