Biography of Ibn Sina Avicenna

Early Life

Avicenna the Muslim scientist was in fact Ibn Sina who was born in Afshana which is a village near Bukhara in 980 AD. His father was from Balkh which is not located in Afghanistan and was from Ismailia sect tribes. He got his early education in his hometown and learned Quran as a Hafiz in age of 10 years. His outstanding intellectual skills impressed his teachers and after some years of further education Avicenna started to study different fields of science e.g. Philosophy and natural science.

Achievements

Ibn Sina was a prolific scientist who was highly interested in science. He studied the work of Aristotle about metaphysics. He found it so much interesting that he left almost every other work but this was a very difficult to understand field for him as he was very young. He used to pray from God to guide him about that work and finally he got a manual handbook of Al Farabi regarding this field which helped him a lot to understand that work of Aristotle and raised his interest in this field. He started to study the medicine in the age of 16 years and by passing next two years he was considered as a very good physician in the age of just 18 years.

Contributions

Avicenna contributed significantly and in a unique way in different fields. After becoming a physician he cured the king of Bukhara and he became healthy although all other physicians got failed in curing him. After his father death, he left Bukhara and joined Al Biruni who was a great scientist of that time. With his help, Ibn Sina wrote his first book about medicine which was name as Al Qanoon Fi Tib. He cured many famous personalities who were declared as not treatable by other physicians. This thing made him very much famous in the field of medicine and among other physicians.

The Muslim Scientist

Avicenna was indeed a scientist because his interest and work was not limited to any of the specific field instead of it he worked in almost every field. Some of the major fields of his contribution are: physics, medicine, psychology, geology, natural sciences, biology, chemistry, pharmacology and many other fields of science.

Death

After so much work in different fields, this man was still contributing in fields of science and was trying to complete many books about these fields. This kind of so many businesses made him seriously ill and he was facing intense diseases. As a result, he died in year of 1037 in the age of 57 years.
