Early Life

Beny Alagem Founder of Packard Bell was born in Israel in 1953. He is an entrepreneur and system developer. As he was born in Israel but he moved to America and settled there. So that’s why he is known as Israel born American entrepreneur.

Founder of Packard Bell

He is a person with great intellectual mind. In history Packard Bell was a company in the United States of America which manufactured televisions and radios for a number of decades. But suddenly in the 20th century this company vanished from the market of American electronics in 1968. The reasons for its disappearance are unknown.

Now the question is how he possessed a great intellectual mind? He thought of opening a new company of electronics and system development. A company with a name which was still not introduced in market mighttake longer time to capture market. As Packard Bell Company already captured some market share and that disappeared from the market. According to his way of thinking it was a great opportunity to cash in for him.

He purchased all the patents and copy rights of that company and started that company again. He opened an electronics company which sold inexpensive computers in 1986 with the same name and also with some expectations from its name.

That company sold computers at retail prices.

Packard Bell

In the history Packard Bell Company has two dates for its foundation. First date of foundation was in the year of 1933 when Herbert A. Bell and Leon S. Packard used this name and founded a company in America. At that time this company was the main manufacturer of radios and televisions. But as it lost its market shares completely it was shut down and the name was lost in the pages of history.

It took birth for the second time in the history in year 1986. This time an Israeli entrepreneur purchased the patents and copy rights for its name and opened a company with same name in the United States. But this time company was not a manufacturer of radios and televisions. This company manufactures and sells personal computer at very inexpensive price level.

It initially operated in the United States and Canada. It expanded to Europe and African markets in 2000. It was purchased by a Taiwanese computer producing company in 2008. That company was Acer. Now it is a subsidiary of Acer.

His Expectations from Packard Bell Name

After creating the company, in initial phases this company earned him a lot of profits because that company was providing personal computers at less prizes but its profitability decreased when Compaq Company came into computer market. That company was providing computer at very less prices as compared to Packard Bell. Then he merged his company with NEC in 1996. He continued to work in Packard Bell as its President.

He had a heart attack in 1997 and after that he continued to work in Packard Bell. But due to increasing pressure of losses he felt very weak and eventually he left the company in 1999. He then continued to invest in other telecommunication organizations.
