What is Cisco Certified Network Professional?

 It is a routing certification that assesses the ability to plan, verify and trouble shoot a wide area network. CCNP Routing and Switching is a credential that provides the learner with experience regarding routing, switching and troubleshooting of networks.

The credential has set out various other goals for the candidates. It includes equipping students with the knowledge that is mainly required for implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting the networks.

Experience Required

CCNP invites or welcomes those who have at least One year of Networking Experience and intend to brush up their networking skills.

Prerequisites

Candidate has to opt. one requirement:

  • CCNA Routing and Switching(200-120)

OR

  • Any Cisco CCIE certification

Required Exam Training and Dates

In total, there are three courses to be covered; all three exams have two versions in total. Adding more questions can be computer based, MCQs, Drag and drop and Fill in the blanks.

  • CCNP Route (642-902) or (300-101): Implementing Cisco IP Routing: 52 Questions of 120 minutes:$200USD:(Last date is January 29,2016)
  • CCNP Switch (642-813) or (300-115): Implementing Cisco IP Switching: 52 questions of 120 minutes: $200 USD:(Last date is January 29,2016)
  • CCNP Troubleshoot (642-832) or (300-135): Maintaining and Troubleshooting Cisco IP networks: 40 questions of 135 minutes:$200 USD(Last date is January 29,2016)

How Training is helpful?

CCNP certification allows its candidates to gars learning in an appropriate way. Candidates can acquire credential by attending study groups, seminars and videos. After attending they will be able to have below mentioned experience.

  • Implementing Cisco IP Routing (Route): While training, students will be able to learn how to plan, configure and verify the implementation of switching by using Cisco’s Campus Enterprise Architecture.
  • Implementing Cisco IP switched Networks (SWITCH): it will provide the learner with the experience of planning, configuring and verifying the complicated switching solutions.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintaining Cisco IP Networks (Trouble Shoot):learning to plan maintenance on complicated and complex routed networks by using diverse practices and systematic approaches.

How to get registered?

To get registered, follow these steps:

  • Register online via http://www.vue.com/cisco/
  • Opt one type of exam either proctored or self-administered.
  • Schedule the exam online, phone or through test center.
  • Pearson VUE is a co-partner of Cisco and will provide every single need regarding exam.

Criteria for Recertification

As far as the validity is concerned, its validity time span is three years in general. In order to recertify, pass the below mention test before the expiry date:

  • Pass any current 642-XXX Professional Level exam or any current 300-XXX professional level exam.
  • Pass current CCIE exam or CCDE written exam or CCDE practical exam
  • Pass Cisco Certified Architect interview and Cisco Architect Board review.
