Biography of Edward Ed E. Iacobucci

Early Life

Edward Ed E. Iacobucci Founder of Citrix Systems, Inc. was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on 26th September, 1953. His father was Dr. Guillermo, who was a biochemist. His father moved to the United States if America with family in 1960 for working at a pharmaceutical company and then Coca-Cola Company.

Education and Early Career

He got his graduation degree in B.S. in systems engineering. He got this degree from Georgia Tech. This was all about his education and his professional carrier started at IBM Company.  He joined IBM in 1979. He played a vital role in the entry of Big Blue into commercial market and personal computer business. He also got the responsibilities of an architect. He took care of design and architecture management duties for OS/2 and IBM DOS. He was also a leading participant in the joint venture of IBM-Microsoft design group, who launched the modern concept of personal computer operating systems based on multi-tasking.

Founder of Citrix Systems, Inc.

He left IBM Company in 1989. After leaving IBM, he with the coordination of some of his colleagues foundeda software company with the name Citrix Systems, Inc. He became the chairman of that newly born company. He also served as the chief technology officer of the company at the same time. As a chief technology officer his job was to monitor all developmental phases of company’s products along with its market.

Due to his leadership qualities, his company was registered in two stock markets. He also signed a fake agreement with Microsoft. It was a five year developmental project which was not fulfilled. He remained its Chairman until 2000. He retired with a vision of SaaS (Software-as-a-Service).

Citrix Systems, Inc.

Citrix Systems, Inc. is a multinational company of the United States of America in the field of software production. This company was founded to provide server applications and desktop visualizations, networking and cloud computing technologies. It also produces open source programs and software like Xen.

Today Citrix Company is operating all-around the world. It has now almost 330,000 firms worldwide. It’s headquarter is in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in the metropolitan area of Miami. Its subsidiaries are working in Massachusetts and California. It has also some extra developmental centers within several countries. These countries include Canada, India, Australia, and the United Kingdom.

Later Life

He also founded another corporation in 2002 with the name DayJet Corporation. He served as the CEO and President of that corporation. DayJet Corporation is an on-demand service of airlines. DayJet Airline services are used by elite class people who travel to save their precious time. It was closed in 2008 due to failure of operational controls.

He remained a member of Board of Directors of SCO Group. In 2001 he formed a data manager organization “Virtual Works”. He also remained its President and CEO. He withdrew from these designations on 20th May, 2013 because of health issues.

Death

He died in 2013 and cause of his death was cancer in pancreas.
