Biography of Kiran Mazumdar Shaw
Early Life
Kiran Mazumdar Shaw Founder of Biocon Limited was born on 23rd March, 1953 in Kolkata, India. She was born into a Marwari family. She got her early education from the Bishop Cotton Girl’s High School in 1968. After that she went to a medical school but chosen her major the subject of biology. She did her BSc in the field of Zoology Honors from Ballarat College of Advanced Education in 1975. She also received an honorary degree in the field of Zoology frim Bangalore University. After that she did her post-graduation from the same college in 1975 and earned a degree of Master Brewer.
Founder of Biocon Limited
She joined an Irish company named BioconBiochemicals Limited as a trainee in 1978. She was very much inspired from that company and wanted to start same sort of company in India. In the same year she opened Biocon in India in her home’s garage with an initial investment of Indian Rs. 10,000.

Biocon Limited is a company of India in the field of medicines and pharmaceuticals. It’s headquarter is based in the city of Bangalore, India. This company is involved in the manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals. There are products of the company which are generic active ingredients of medicines; this company sells those products in international markets like the markets of the United States and Europe. There are two subsidiaries of this company, one is established on the basis of custom research and other one is founded on the research basis in clinical operations. The first one is named as the Syngene and other one is known with the name of Clinigene.
Present Life
Currently she is working in her company and also doing some philanthropist works for the betterment of the society and people.
