Early Life

Leonard Bosack founder of Cisco Systems is a famous American businessman and entrepreneur. He was born in the year of 1952 on August 24th in Pennsylvania, United States of America. He was Polish catholic from his family. He started his early education in his town school and later on for formal education, he joined La Salle College. He graduated from there in the year of 1969. After that, he was enrolled in Wharton School which is located with University of Pennsylvania and graduated from there in 1973. Later on, after a hard struggle, he moved to Stanford University and started to study computer science and to work as a hardware engineer.

Initial Career

He started his career in the age of 27 years when he joined Stanford University as a hardware engineer. This thing happened in the year of 1979 while his studies there in Stanford University, he was widely credited for becoming a support engineer. In the year of 1981, he worked as a support engineer for different project of Stanford’s mainframes which were minis, lisp machines and altos.

Leonard Bosack is widely credited as co founder of Cisco Systems. After his initial career in Stanford University as a project engineer, now he was working as a project supervisor in the same university where he met Sandra Lerner who was the manager of the business school laboratory. Both of them fell in love with each other and after a relationship of one year, they married with each other. Later on, Leonard Shared his idea of starting their own business with his wife Sandra who was also of the same field who supported him in his idea and this thing led them to the foundation of Cisco Systems.

Cisco Systems was co founded by Leonard Bosack and his wife Sandra Lerner in the year of 1984. The company was founded with its first office in Menlo Park.  The main idea behind this company was of commercializing the advanced gateway server which was basically idea of Leonard Bosack fully supported by his wife. Initially, they designed routers in their own house and tested these routers by using the network of Stanford University.
