National University Graduate School Scholarships (NGSS) 2021

National University of Singapore is offering National Graduate School Scholarships (NGSS) for national and international applicants all over the world. These NGSS awards are offered for outstanding students with an aptitude for innovative, high caliber PhD research at the National University of Singapore in Singapore.

Duration of Scholarships

Up to 4 years of the PhD studies, OR up to date of graduation. Award is renewable, subject to satisfactory academic performance of CAP ≥ 3.8 at the end of every semester

Scholarships Description / Details

  • Monthly stipend for Singapore Citizens S$3,500,plus Central Provident Fund (CPF) contributions at a rate pegged to the prevailing employer’s contribution rate set by CPF
  • Monthly stipend for Singapore Permanent Residents S$3,200
  • Monthly stipend for International students S$3,000
  • Full tuition fee subsidy for 4 years
  • Other allowances include:
  • Computer allowance
  • Book allowance
  • Conference allowance

 Eligibility Criteria

To be considering for NGSS, candidates must:

  • Opens worldwide
  • Graduates with a passion for cross-disciplinary research in science, engineering, computing, and related aspects of medicine
  • Graduates with at least 2nd Upper Honours, or equivalent qualifications
  • GRE is compulsory for all except for applicants from NUS or NTU. Note that GATE is NOT acceptable.
  • TOEFL is compulsory (ONLY applicable for applicants whose native tongue or medium of undergraduate instruction is not in English)
  • Students are not eligible for the President’s Graduate Fellowship (PGF)

  • Research Proposal (two pages)
  • A copy of Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree transcript(s) & certificate(s)
  • Copy of Publication(s) (if any)
  • A copy of GRE and TOEFL/IELTS score sheet (where applicable)
  • Complete printout of the Online Application Form
  • Personal CV – optional
  • Other Document(s)
  • Proof of Payment of Application Fee
  • Copy of Singapore NRIC or citizenship certificate/re-entry permit
