What is Program Management Professional?

This certification assesses the performance more generally related to the multiple projects in order to achieve the strategic business goals. What Programme managers are supposed to do? They have to oversee the multiple related projects to see the company’s benefit so that they can achieve the Programme management professional. Now what is the major drive behind PgMP? It will check the advanced experience and skills of program managers.

Basic Requirements

In order to apply for PgMP, there are two possibilities in general:

  • An individual must have a Secondary Degree along with at least for years’Experience of project management experience and program management experience.

OR

  • A Four years’ degree of bachelors with same experience mentioned above.

How to apply for PgMP?

In order to apply for PgMP, do register and log into the online system of PMI. An application form will be displayed before you. When it comes to application submission, it mainly depends on the way you submit.

Fee Criteria

PgMP fee criteria is managed in two currencies: Dollar and Euro. It is acknowledged by PMI in which Computer based testing CBT and Paper based testing PBT is involved.

Note: Payments can be submitted through credit card, check, money order and wire transfer. If you choose payment type by check and money order then credential payment form is important.

Exam Format

Examination consists of 170 MCQ’s. Out of which, 20 are the pretest questions with the allocated time of 4 hours.

Get to Know Exam Locations / Dates

A candidate can take exam up to three times as the eligibility is valid for one year. Once you get eligible for exam, PMI will notify to schedule the exam. Thereby, choose the center near to you.

Exam policies and instructions

In case of passing the exam, you will be having PgMP credential. After that, this will be called as a PgMP credential holder. Within 6 to 8 months, you will receive a credential package that will include certificate, information regarding maintenance and renewal of credential and congratulatory letter. Online Certification Registry chronologically lists names of the holders.

Maintaining the Certification

After the attainment of PgMP certification, you must participate in CCR (Continuing Certification Requirements Program) in order to maintain an active certification status. After the 6 year span of PgMP, CCR cycle will begin which will base on the time span of 3 years.
