The University of Queensland (UQ) Scholarship 2021
The University of Queensland is offering UQ’s Academic Scholarships for domestic and international students. UQ’s Academic Scholarships are offered for those excellent and outstanding students who want to intake undergraduate and postgraduate (Honours) study at The University of Queensland in Australia. There are three categories of UQ’s Academic Scholarships:
- UQ Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships
- UQ Excellence Scholarships
- UQ Merit Scholarships

Number of Scholarships
Total 165 awards are offered every year, up to 50 Vice Chancellor’s Scholarships, 65 Excellence Scholarships and 50 Merit Scholarships
Duration of Scholarship
- UQ Vice Chancellor’s Scholarships duration is up to 5 years for undergraduate and postgraduate (Honours) study
- UQ Excellence Scholarships duration is up to 4 years for undergraduate and postgraduate (Honours) study
- UQ Merit Scholarships duration is only First year of undergraduate study
Scholarship Description / Details
- UQ Vice Chancellor’s Scholarships total value is up to $60,000, however award value is $12,000 per year
- UQ Excellence Scholarships total value is up to $24,000, however award value is $6,000 per year
- UQ Merit Scholarships award value is $6,000 first year of undergraduate study
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicant must:
- UQ Academic scholarships are open for those students who complete 12 years study in 2016 or 2015 (gap year students)
- Open for Australian Citizens or Australian Permanent Residents or Humanitarian Visa Holder or New Zealand citizens and international students
- Not completed any previous tertiary study other than 12 years studies
- Have applied for a tertiary place through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC)
- Must enroll as a full time student in undergraduate and postgraduate (Honours) study in Australia
