United Nations/Japan Long-term Fellowships 2021

United Nations/Japan Long-term is offering Fellowships 2017 for nationals of developing countries or non-space-faring nations. The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs and the Government of Japan in cooperation with the Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech) have established a United Nations/Japan Long-term Fellowship for outstanding students in Japan.

Postgraduate fellowship is offered in the field of Nano-Satellite Technologies

Number of Scholarships

Up to 6 awards are offered every year.

  • Up to two awards offered in the Masters study
  • Up to four awards offered in the Doctorate study

Duration of Scholarship

The duration of the fellowship study is 2 for master program and 3 years for PhD programs

Scholarship Description / Details

  • The scholarship value is about 145,000 yen per month for the full time programs
  • Cover housing rent
  • Food
  • Local transportation
  • Other expenses
  • An economy class air ticket between an international airport in the country of his/her nationality and Narita International Airport or Fukuoka International Airport
  • Fees for matriculation
  • Tuition and entrance examinations

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible conditions for this fellowship, applicants must:

  • Applicants must be belongs to developing countries or non-space-faring nations countries
  • Be duly nominated by their institutions
  • Age limit for postgraduate is 34 or less
  • Have an excellent academic background for undertaking master degree have passed bachelors degree or equivalent in engineering field
  • For seeking a Doctoral (PhD) degree have passed master degree in engineering
  • Have an experience work /professional
  • A good command of written and spoken English
