University Grants Commission Bahadur Shah Zafar MARG New Delhi Scholarship 2021

The Ministry of HRD and the University Grants Commission are working towards promoting higher education, improving the GER and encouraging students with a economically weak background in Northeast region. UGC are launching the special ‘Ishan Uday’ scholarship scheme especially for the Northeast region. One of its main objectives is to focus more on professional education in NE Region.

Field of Study / Subjects

Scholarships will be for general degree courses, technical and professional courses, including medical and Para-medical courses.

Other latest Scholarships in India are also offered for different degrees and subjects all over the India.

Number of Scholarships

10,000 fresh scholarships will be provided every year.

Duration of Scholarship

Standard duration for all the degree programs and courses. Duration of scholarship is also bound with student progression.

Scholarship Description / Details

The following sum of grant is offered to the students:

  • Rs 3000 per month for general degree courses.
  • Rs 5000 per month for Technical & Professional courses (including Medical & Para medical courses)

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this award, candidates must:

  • Have parents with income less than 4.5 lacs per annum.
  • Have domicile of NER.
  • Have passed Class XII or equivalent exam from a school situated within NER through any recognized Board of Education.
  • Have secured admission in general degree course, technical and professional courses including medical and paramedical courses (Integrated courses included) in Universities/Colleges/Institutions recognized by UGC, within and outside the States of NER.

Ineligible criteria:

  • Have parents with an yearly income of more than 4.5 lacs.
  • Are pursuing courses like diploma which does not lead to award of a degree.
  • Have gained admission through ‘management quota’.
  • Who is availing scholarship under a different scheme?
  • Enrolled in courses/programs through Open University.
