Biography of Robert Bunsen
Early Life
Robert Bunsen inventor of Bunsen burner was a geologist by profession. That was not his only field of interest but he had many other specialties too. He was born in the year of 1811 on March 30th in Gottingen, Westphalia which is located in Germany. He started his formal education when he joined a school in Holzminden. After his initial education from there, he joined a college in Gottingen from where he earned his matriculation. After that, he studied three different fields as mentioned above that geology was not his only field of interest but he studied chemistry, mineralogy and especially mathematics too.
Career
After completion of his education, he started his formal career as a teacher. His first job was a lecturer in his hometown Gottingen. He conducted numerous researches over there in the field of chemistry to study different elements and minerals in details. Later on, he moved to polytechnic school of Kassel where he taught for almost duration of three years. His researches and practical work made him very famous because all of his researches were published. Hence as this thing, he was recognized as a professional of the field and considered as a bona fide scientist.
Further achievements
After that, he was offered the job of assistant professor in the University of Marburg which he accepted and became a professor over there. He made numerous contributions to the field of chemistry and mineralogy while working in the above mentioned university where he taught for many years. Later on, he joined university of Breslau as a professor where he stayed for just 1.5 years. His achievements and career is so long and with well contributions that it can’t be justified in a short article. He taught in many other universities and worked for long time. He invented Bunsen burner.
Inventor of Bunsen burner
Robert Bunsen is considered as the inventor of his very well known and famous Bunsen burner. This invention led him to be considered as an authority and recognition in the field of chemistry. Bunsen burner is not any complex invention, for which there needed to be work for many years. Despite of that, it is a simple instrument which is almost found in every laboratory either biology, physics or a chemistry one.
Bunsen burner
It is kind of a burner which is used for the purposes of heating anything, combusting it and most specially sterilizing that thing. When it is turned on and burnt, it produces just a simple single flame which does not create much heat in surroundings and hence can be used with safety and simplicity. There is a gas used in it and it can be any natural gas most commonly as methane.
Death
He died in the year of 1899 on August 16. He was almost 88 years of age at the time of his death.
