Biography of Bertie Charles Forbes

Early Life

Bertie Charles Forbes founder of Forbes was born on 14th May, 1880 in New Deer, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. He got his education from the University of Dundee which is now a part of the University of St Andrews in Scotland.

Working Life

After completing his education he entered into his working life in 1897. His first job was as an editorial writer and a reporter in a newspaper of locality. After working for several years there he migrated to South Africa’s Johannesburg city in 1901. In this new country he went on to continue his carrier in the field of journalism and joined the Rand Daily Mail and worked under its first editor. After that in 1904 he went to the United States for booming his carrier and there he joined the Journal of Commerce as a writer and financial editor. Following this job he also did the job of columnist in the Hearst newspapers in 1911. His next job was in the New York American as a financial editor which he joined after two years of his previous job and he remained there until 1916.

Founder of Forbes

After having vast experience in the field of journalism he founded his own magazine with the name of Forbes in 1917. Throughout his remaining life he used to be the chief editor of this magazine. He was also the founder of another organization named as the Investors League which he founded in 1942.

Forbes is an American magazine related to business. Its publication headquarter is located in New York City. In this magazine article are published related to business industry like investment, financing, marketing and other related fields of discussion.

Death

He died on 6th March in 1954. His magazine publication was taken over by his elder son.
