What is Cisco Certified Design Expert?

CCDE is a cisco’s product that is mainly intends to design for expert network engineers. It acknowledges those professionals who have enough knowledge in network designing. Thereby, skills and knowledge are evaluated on the basis of developing network design.

Objectives:

Credential puts high emphasis on network design principles and theory at infrastructure level. It identifies the expertise of designers who are skilled in dealing with complex networks. Adding more, CCDE assess their skills in translating business strategies into technical strategies.

Prerequisites

As such no requirements are requested with no professional credential is demanded.

CCDE Design Written Exam (325-001 CCDE)

• A written qualification exam with allocated time of 2 hours and 90-110 questions.
• Assess candidate’s skills in fewer areas: Routing, Management, Cost, Tunneling, and Quality of Service (Qos).
• Assess that candidates have skills to gather up network functional requirements.
• Candidate has the ability to develop, convey and possess infrastructure content.
• Exam is a closed one with no outside reference material.

CCDE Practical Exam

• CCDE practical exam is 8-hour exam. Candidates will encounter 25-35 questions related to different aspects.
• Assess the ability to analyze, develop, justify and validate network designs.
• Candidates who shall pass CCDE written exam will appear for CCDE practical exam
• Exams will be held at PPCs Pearson Professional Centers (PPCs) globally.
• Outside material is strictly prohibited during practical exam.
• Grading will be evaluated by using some sort of statistical analysis
• Results are displayed on Cisco’s site within 48 hours.
• Reevaluation is not offered in Cisco’s policy for Practical Exam results.

How to get registered for Practical Exam?

It is recommended to schedule the exam nearer to your location by contacting Pearson VUE.

Current Dates: Allocated exam dates are 21 August 2015, November 20, 2015, February 5, 2016, May 19, 2016, August 19, 2016 and November 19, 2016.

Recertification Policy: CCDE credentials are legal for 2 years. In order to recertify, pass any one below mentioned test before the expiry date:

• Pass current CCIE exam or CCDE written exam or CCIE lab exam or
• Pass current CCDE written exam or current CCDE practical exam
• Pass Cisco Certified Architect interview and Cisco Architect Board review to elongate lower credentials.
