Biography of David Rosen

Early Life

David Rosen founder of Sega Corporation was born on 22^nd January, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York, the United States. He was born to Fay nee Sachs and Samuel Rosen.

His wife was Masako Fujisaki. This couple bound themselves in the bond of marriage in 1954. This couple also had a daughter named Lisa Rosen. He belonged to a Jewish family.

Early Career

His career started as a servant in military. He joined the United States Air Force. He remained in the Air Force from 1948 to 1952. He was posted initially in the areas of Japan. During the time of the Korean War he was posted in the Far East. He served there for the remaining time of his service.

He founded a company in 1954 with the name of Rosen Enterprises, Inc. Through this company he used to sell and promote the art of Japan in the United States of America’s market. He produced photo studios for identification card of Japan. His business of photos was known as Photorama. He spread his that business and created so many studios all over the different areas of whole Japan.

He shifted his focus in the Rosen Enterprises, Ltd., from the works of art to the formation and importation of amusement machines. At that time those machines were very much popular in the United States. He imported those machines to Japan. He imported those machines for meeting the demands and needs of the growing business. He used those machines very intelligently in his Photorama, photo studios and was very efficient roller of the amusement machines.

Founder of Sega Corporation

He wanted to spread his business and enhance it. For this purpose he merged his company with another company of Japan in the field of game production. That company was named as Nihon Goraku Bussan, Ltd., commonly known as Service Games Japan. After a merging between them in 1965 a new brand name of games was coined that was SEGA. That name was taken from the initials of company name Service Games. That new company started making jukeboxes, slot machines and other amusement products. Once both companies were merged a new company was born which was named as SEGA Enterprises Ltd. He got three main strategic designations at the formation of company. He got the seats of a Chairman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President. It was a big achievement for him. That company was later on became famous as the Sega Corporation.

After that company he also founded an association named the Japan Amusement Association, founded in 1967. He became its Chairman as well.

Sega Corporation is a multinational company of Japan in the field of gaming and related hardware production. It’s headquarter is located in Tokyo, Japan. This company manufactures, develops and publishes video games and also manufactures consoles and other hardware devices related with gaming and entertainment. It also operates in different offices located at different locations throughout the world. A new division was also formed by this company which was named as Dreamcast Games. There are different branches of the company in different countries with different names, just like Sega America, Sega Europe and many others. The first ever game produced by his company was named as Periscope.

Business Profile

He was known as an American businessman and tycoon. He was also responsible for the foundation of SEGA, a Japanese video game producing company. He remained the Chairman of the company since from its beginning. In 1996, he became weak for working at his designation, so he retired in that year.
