Biography of David Steward

Early Life

David Steward founder of World Wide Technology Inc was born in 1951 in Chicago, Illinois, the United States of America. He was born in the house of a mechanic. His father was Harold Steward who was as mentioned earlier a mechanic. His mother was a homemaker named Dorothy. His childhood was passed in Clinton, Missouri and there he went through poverty and discrimination.

He was a very determined student and he got his education from Central Missouri State University in the field of business with the degree of B. S. He got his degree in the year of 1973.

Entry into Business World

After completing his graduation from his college he went into the practical field of working. His first working place was Wagner Electric Company in which he worked as a production manager for two years in 1974 and 1975. After that job his next job was at Missouri Pacific Railroad Company as a sales representative and he worked there from 1975 to 79. His next job was a job of a senior account executive which he did at Federal Express from 1979 to 84.

During his jobs he was also named as the salesman of the year and was added in the hall of fame of the company in 1981. Before the foundation of the World Wide Technology he owned Transport Business Specialists and Transport Administrative Services.

After some years of his last job which is mentioned above he founded a company with the name of World Wide Technology. He founded that company with some other persons that included Jim Kavanaugh in 1990. That was the company of technology products manufacturing and selling.

It’s headquarter is located in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. It is commonly known through its abbreviation as WWT. This company manufactures supply chain and technology solutions to all the sectors which included government, telecom and commercial sectors of its country and throughout the entire world. It also provides its services to its clients for the procurement, planning and also the development of Information Technology solutions and products. Overall it is regarded as the systems integration company.

This company is the largest seller of technology products and reseller of Cisco to the United States Federal Government. It also holds all the major contracts of the government of the United States which included ITES-2H, SEWP and also included in the GSA Schedule.

It has employed more than 1,700 persons from all over the world with its operations spread over more than 2,000,000 square feet and 190,000 meter square of warehousing and twenty one integration space facilities all over the world.

In 2011 its total revenue increased up to $4.1 billion which made his company as the largest African- American Company owned by the United States.

Personal Life

In his personal life he married to Thelma Steward. That couple also had two children who are adults. On the request of his pastor he started a Sunday school class for the learning purpose of business people. He was a very religious person and he was inspired by one of the religious saying and started that training classes and those classes were proved to be a great success and now that classes are still conducted and attended by the governors and ministers of Missouri.

Present Life

He is serving his company still today and also joined some universities on some prestigious designations.
