Applications for the fully funded Deakin University Scholarships for 2025–2026 are open to students from abroad. These scholarships are available for postgraduate study and include health insurance, a $500 to $1,500 relocation allowance, and a $34,400 annual income.

Deakin University provides the DUPR scholarships, whereas the Australian Government funds the RTP scholarships, which were previously known as the APA scholarships. These awards are open to students from both domestic and foreign universities. The top candidates will be offered RTP.

Duration of Scholarship

  • Master’s degree duration: two years to cover tuition costs and two years for stipend.
  • Duration of Doctorate: 4 years to cover tuition fee and 3 years for stipend.

Scholarship Description / Details

Scholarships from Deakin University will offer:

  • A $34,400 annual stipend that is tax-exempt (2024 rate)
  • Deakin offers relocation assistance to students studying outside the state or overseas, with sums ranging from $500 to $1,500 for single or family.
  • Only available to international students: for the period of the student visa, one international student health insurance policy is permitted.

Eligibility Criteria

In order for an applicant to be eligible for the Deakin University Postgraduate Research Scholarship, they must meet the following requirements:

  • Demonstrate at least two decades related job experience.
  • Have completed bachelors study at a university or approved institution.
  • Possess a strong command of the English language
  • Every country in the world is eligible.
  • To receive an DUPRS, RTP Fees Offset, RTP Stipend, or RTP Allowance, Students must take an HDR course at Deakin University, regardless of nationality.
  • To be eligible for an DUPRS or RTP stipend, students must not receive additional funding for living expenses while enrolled in classes. If so, the additional funds cannot exceed 75% of the DUPRS or RTP stipend rate.
  • To be eligible for RTP expenses Coverage, applicants must receive a comparable Commonwealth award or scholarship for HDR expenses. If a student’s income is not related to their course of study or does not cover their living expenses, it should not be included.
  • To be eligible for an DUPRS or RTP Stipend, Candidates must have completed a total of four years of graduate school and graduated with first-class honors or an equivalent degree.

For Doctorate degree

  • Students must carry out a research project in a related topic and submit a thesis equivalent to 25% of a year’s full-time coursework at Levels 8 or 9 of the Australian Qualification Framework.
    • Obtained a master’s degree in a relevant research subject.
    • The project must have a minimum Deakin grade of 70%.

For the master’s degree
A master’s degree requires completing a research project and thesis that is equivalent to at least 25% of a year of continuous enrollment at Level 8 or 9 of the Australian Qualifications Framework. The project’s grade must also be at least 65% Deakin.

(4) Remember to submit certified copies as well. The following authorized personnel must certify the documents before they can be submitted:

  • A peace, justice and a notary public.
  • According to the Consular Fees Act of 1955, an Australian Diplomatic Officer or a Consular Officer.
  • A Commonwealth or Australian Trade Commission employee stationed in Australia.
  • A representative for recruiting international students.
