The Ecole normale supérieure (ENS) is offering scholarships for outstanding international students in France. These scholarships are for those students who want to pursue their Masters Degree studies in Ecole normale supérieure institute. These scholarships are aiming to provide opportunities to intellectual international students to use best of their skills and to spend two years of study with a well ranked institute.

Access to top-notch instruction, interaction with outstanding researchers, and a privileged training and research environment are all provided by joining ENS through the tough examination of the international selection. International students continue their studies at ENS and the university simultaneously, assimilated into the normaliens community, and receiving a room on one of the ENS campuses as well as a three-year grant of 1000 euros. Upon completion of their education, these students have earned both the École normale supérieure diploma and a master’s degree in their field.

Applicants can choose any field for their Masters Degree studies which are offered in ENS.  These fields can be:

  • Science
  • Humanities
  • Arts

Number of Scholarships

Total 20 numbers of awards are offered under this scholarship. 10 awards for students in Sciences and 10 awards for students in Arts and Humanities

Duration of Scholarship

3 years of Bachelors and 1 year of Master’s Degree in Science, Humanities and Arts programs.

Scholarship Description / Details

This scholarship is offering many grants, which are given as follows.

  • The applicants who will be granted this scholarship will be provided one basic stipend to meet up their expenditures.
  • The amount of this stipend will be 1000 Euros in degree period of three years and receiving a room on one of the ENS campuses.

Eligibility Criteria

In to be considered for this scholarship, applicants must be:

  • Applicants must not be older than 26 on December 1st.
  • Applicants must be new to the International Selection process.
  • Candidates cannot have spent more than ten months in France either the year before or during the academic year of the selection (September 1–August 31).
  • Applicants must provide documentation of at least one year of undergraduate coursework completed at a foreign university in the year before the application period opened.
  • Candidates must provide documentation of at least two years of undergraduate study at a foreign university by September 1st, the day after admission.

How to Apply / Download Scholarship Form / Documents Required

  • On-line application portal
  • The initial application form needs to be filled out and verified. https://candidatures.ens.psl.eu/
  • You get an email within two days asking you to create an account on Dematec, an application where you have to upload the necessary PDF files.
  • Your Dematec file is sent to the jury if it is complete.
  • If your file is chosen by the jury, you will be asked to participate in remote written and oral examinations.
  • The list of admitted students is determined by the test scores.
