Finland Government Scholarship 2025 is open now. Finland Government Scholarship is offered to international students from any country. This scholarship is for a bachelors, masters and PHD’s degree program.
Finland has two types of higher educational institutions: UAS – university of applied sciences; and (2) universities. Both higher education institutions provide master’s and bachelor’s degree programs (with some dissimilarities in admission requirements). The goal of UAS is to perform research and development that supports teaching and specifically aids in regional development, in addition to training professionals in response to labor market demands. Universities aim to do scientific research, give postgraduate training, and establish organizations based on that research.

Scholarship Description/ Details
This scholarship program offers to cover the following expenses:
■ Scholarships for tuition fee waivers or tuition fees and monthly stipends (totally financed) are available at all universities.
■ When an applicant gets admission in a Finland university then he/ she is automatically considered for a scholarship.
■ There is no application fee at all.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following prerequisites to be eligible for a bachelor’s degree program.
- You must have school-leaving credentials in order to pursue further education in your nation of origin.
- You still need an upper secondary school diploma even if you have taken certain courses toward a higher education degree.
- Entrance exams like SATS or interviews must be done for admission.
- For non-native English speakers you must have proficiency in English exams like TOEFL , IELTS, PTE and Cambridge test.
Applicants need to meet the following requirements to be eligible for a master’s degree program:
For universities of applied sciences:
- Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education.
- After completing a bachelor’s degree, applicants must have 2 years of experience.
- Certain disciplines (such as media and visual arts, music, theater and dance, visual arts, and crafts and design) allow creative merits and activities to take the place of professional experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Various degree programs may have different specific requirements.
- It may be necessary for qualified candidates to pass an admission exam, a SAT, or an interview.
Proficiency in English:
- Proof of English competence may be required by universities if it’s not your first language.
- Tests like the TOEFL and IELTS are widely accepted.
- Depending on the university, several tests could be approved.
- English proficiency exam exemption policies might differ, therefore it’s best to verify with the particular university.
For universities
■ A bachelor’s degree from UAS or university must have been earned by the candidate.

Joint Application:
- The Studyinfo.fi joint application for programs beginning in the fall (September) is finished every year in January, 8–22 in 2025.

January Study Start Options:
- There may be degree programs that start in January. The joint application period for these programs normally starts in September (4–14 Sept in 2025).
- Keep in mind that the September joint application offers a smaller variety of programs compared to the January joint application.
