Biography of Gianni Versace

Early Life

Gianni Versace founder of Gianni Versace S.p.A was born on 2^nd December 1946 in Reggio Calabria, Italy. He lived there with his family. His family included his parents, one older brother, two sisters from them one was younger. His younger sister died at the age of nine years. His mother was a dressmaker in the locality. He grew in his hometown.

In his very early childhood he started learning the work from his mother. That work was related to his field. His mother had a sewing workshop in which she had a dozen of employees. He moved to Milan for working in the industry of fashion. But before moving to Milan he learnt courses of architecture.

His Popularity

He gained popularity within short span of time. In 1970s many people related to fashion industry were attracted by his work. One them was Comlice who hired him for making design collection of leather and lace. He was very much successful in his and this encouraged him to introduce his own signature collection. That was the collection for women which he presented at the Palazzo della Permanente Art Museum of Milan.

Following his first signature collection immediately he presented his first fashion show in the month of September of same year. He also joined Jorge Saud and both became partners in Giorgio Armani, after he presented his men’s wear collection.

That all was the background in the formation of a really big fashion industry named Versace Group. Initially he started with a boutique, which was his first boutique also. He opened that boutique in Via della Spiga, Milan in 1978. That was the beginning and after progress and success that boutique turned into a company of fashion designing and clothing named Gianni Versace S.p.A.

Gianni Versace S.p.A. is a multinational company of Italy in the field of fashion designing. This company designs, manufactures, markets, and sales luxurious clothing, makeup things, related accessories, and home furnishings. It was initially started in 1978 from a small boutique. This company is being operated by the family members of Versace family.

In today’s world it is considered as one of the largest international fashion industries of the world. In addition to this popularity, company also got some notoriety in 1994 due to the coverage of the Black Versace dress of Elizabeth Hurley.

Death

At the age of fifty years he died on 15^th July, 1997. He didn’t die of natural cause but he was shot and it was a murder. After eight days of his murder his murderer was arrested on Miami Beach. His murderer was arrested while committing suicide from the same gun by which he shot him. But local police was unable to notify the cause of his murder. His ashes were return to his family’s estate in Cernobbio, Italy.

After his death, it was decided in the month of September of the same year that his brother Santo and his partner Jorge Saud would be serving as the new CEOs of the company and his sister named Donatella would be the new designer head.

In his life, apart from the fashion industry he also actively participated into film making. He participated into a number of onscreen film projects.
