Biography of Henry Robinson Luce
Early Life
Henry Robinson Luce founder of Fortune was born on 3rd April, 1898 in Tengchow, China. He belonged to a very religious background. His parents were Elizabeth Middleton and Henry Winters Luce. His father was a missionary. He got his early education from various schools of China and England which also included the schools like China Inland Mission and Chefoo School.
Initial Work
At the age of just 15 years he went to the United States and joined the Hotchkiss School located in Connecticut. He started his early work from there by doing editing in monthly the Hotchkiss Literary Monthly. He met his lifetime journalist partner named Briton Hadden there. After that both worked together. He used to be the managing editor of The Yale Daily News when both of them went to Yale College. After that he worked on many different designations in different institutions in the same field.
Founder of Fortune
After working together for so many years, his partner Hadden died in 1929. After the death of his partner he acquired his position and founded a magazine in the month of February in 1930 which was a business magazine with the name of Fortune. He didn’t stop after its formation and went on to produce so many other magazine also and became a tycoon in the field of magazines.

Fortune is a business magazine of the United States of America. This is a business magazine and known commonly with the publication of Fortune 500 which is a ranking book of companies in terms of the revenue earned by them. This publication started from 1955.
Death
He died on 28th February 1967 in Phoenix, Arizona. At the time of his death he was worth of $100 million. He did so many works of philanthropy in his life also.
