What is HCISPP? 

HCISSP is an information security product that is mainly designed to secure health information. Intending to be designed for the practitioner who possesses knowledge and control in securing personal health information.

CISSP Prerequisites: 

The HCISSP test evaluates the candidate based on seven domains of knowledge. It is required to have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in any one domain out of seven domains. The experience in one domain must be related to the first three domains.

How to apply?

  • Firstly, a candidate has to generate an account at Pearson Vue so, he or she may schedule the CISSP’s CBT exam.
  • Next, assure yourself of examination agreements.
  • Exam dates will be issued after scheduling.
  • Pearson vouchers are to be purchased every 15th of the month. So if you are planning to appear in November then do register yourself by October.
  • Exam is offered in Japanese, Korean, Portuguese-Brazilian, French, English, German and Spanish-Modern.

Endorsement Process:

 After getting certified, finish up the Endorsement process. It indicates that you have completed the credential in 9 months. For more details, Refer to https://www.isc2.org/endorsement

HCISPP no longer fulfils the stringent standards for ISC2 certification, and the credential will be labelled as inactive. Following the standards developed by the ISC2 Committee and authorized, the HCISPP will become inactive on December 1, 2026 (three years after the last exam date of December 1, 2023).

ISC2 recently introduced new healthcare cybersecurity credentials that demonstrate knowledge in the specialized domain of security. Three Healthcare Certificates are available: 

  1. Healthcare Essentials: Information Security in Healthcare Settings 
  2. Privacy and Security for Healthcare Organizations 
  3. Risk Management and Risk Assessment in a Healthcare Setting

Future of ISC2:

  • The ISC2 is revising its healthcare cybersecurity certifications to more effectively meet growing threats and industry demands. 
  • The HCISPP (Healthcare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner) certification will be replaced with new certifications that provide more focused and extensive training. 
  • These modifications are intended to provide workers with enhanced capabilities in safeguarding critical healthcare data and addressing complex security risks. 
  • The upgraded credentials will improve career possibilities and guarantee that practitioners are up to speed on the newest cybersecurity techniques, thereby boosting healthcare companies’ overall security postures.
