Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarships 2021

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) is offering scholarships to international students who wish to their undergraduate study at Japanese universities under the Japanese Government (MEXT). The aim of this scholarship program is to promote friendly relations and to strengthen the relationship between Japan to other countries. MEXT scholarship is popular in developing and poor countries like South East Asia, South Asia, Middle East Asia, Africa because the education system in these countries is not good enough. All application procedures for this scholarship program are conducted through embassies or consulates in your countries. All Japanese universities are participating in this scholarship program, the government will decide the university for a candidate according to his or her academic results. This scholarship does not require IELTS or TOEFL and knowledge of the Japanese language which is a plus point for International candidates. This scholarship program is offered to students of those countries who have diplomatic relations with Japan like Asia, North America, Africa, the Caribbean, Pacific, Latin America, Europe, Middle East.

The scholarship period will be five years, including:

One-year preparatory education in the Japanese language and other subjects due to be provided upon arrival in Japan.

Scholarship Description / Details:

This scholarship program is offering grants, which are given as follows:

  • Allowance: 117,000 yen per month
  • Tuition and Other Fees (including fees for the entrance examination, matriculation, and tuition at universities)
  • Traveling Costs including Transportation to Japan and Transportation from Japan.

 Eligibility Criteria:

In order to be eligible for the Japanese Government scholarship, you must meet the following instructions:

  • Have any nationality of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan
  • Students must have been born between April 2, 1996, and April 1, 2002
  • Must hold 12 years of school education diploma, certificate
  • Must hold an educational course at a school equivalent to a high school qualification
  • Candidates must be willing to learn Japanese and interested in the Japanese language
  • Candidates must be in a good health and also submit a health certificate
  • Candidates must be able to arrive in Japan between the 1stand 7th of April 2021.
