Killam Postdoctoral Research Scholarships for National and International Students 2021 / 2022
The Killam Trust of Canada is offering Killam postdoctoral research scholarships for local and international students in Canada. These scholarships were established in memory of Izaak Walton Killam through the Will of his wife, Dorothy Johnston Killam. The aim is to help those students who want to pursue their post doctoral research program in UBC and other institutes under this trust. These scholarships are focusing on highly intellectual students from within Canada and other developing countries.

Applicants can choose any field of study for their Post doctoral research programs that are being offered currently in different universities under this Killam Trust scholarship.

Number of Scholarships
Approximately 3 to 5 scholarships are offered annually to the national and international students to study in post doctoral research degree program.

Scholarship Description / Details
Killam Postdoctoral Research Scholarships for national and international students provide many grants for the applicants, these following grants are:
- The amount of the annual stipend will be $50,000 for 2 years.
- A travel and research allowance worth $4,000.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be considered for the Killam Postdoctoral Research Scholarships for national and international students, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
- Applicant should be a nationality holder of Canada with a valid passport or should be from any developing country.
- Applicant should have a PhD degree from any recognized university.
- Must not have pursued PhD-level studies at any campus of the University of British Columbia.
How to Apply / Download Scholarship Form / Documents Required
Applicants can apply for this scholarship, must follow some steps:
- Applicants need to complete the application form and attach all the required documents before submitting the application.
- Application form will be available on official website in summer 2019.
- Required Documents:
- Research proposal (maximum of two pages).
- Ancillary materials (optional, maximum of one page).
- Personal statement (maximum of one page).
- Special circumstances (optional, maximum of one page).
- Curriculum vitae from the Canadian Common CV site.
- One letter of support from your proposed supervisor.
- Three letters of reference.
- Unofficial electronic transcripts and translations will be accepted for the competition only. Successful applicants who obtain a Killam Postdoctoral scholarship, will be asked to submit official transcripts in envelopes sealed by the issuing institutions, or certified electronic transcripts, with official translations as necessary.
