Biography of Maurice McDonald

Early Life

Maurice McDonald founder of McDonald restaurant was a well known entrepreneur of America. He was born in the year of 1902 on November 26^th in Manchester, New Hampshire in United States of America. His full name was Maurice James McDonald. He was admitted in his town school for his early education where he studied for six years. After that, he was enrolled in city school of science for his secondary school studies and he studied there till 1917. He did not earn any professional degree because he was not much interested in studies as his younger brother.

Interest in Business

He left the education after studying for a couple of years after his school studies. He was interested in business and had a business mind from very young age. He did different jobs, personal businesses but didn’t continue those because he was not oriented to any specific point. He was thinking to start a proper business which may become worthy for him and he may not have to do any job.

Co Founder of McDonald Restaurant

Richard discussed a plan with him to start any business. Maurice was also interested in a business and was doing a job those days. They didn’t have any proper idea or plan about business that what they should start. They discussed many ideas and at last finalized an idea to start a restaurant of fast food products. This idea led them to the founding of McDonald’s restaurant in year of 1948 in North E -street in San Bernardino of California. Both of these brothers had equal 50% shares in restaurant’s profit and became the first fast food pioneers of USA.

McDonald Restaurant

McDonald’s restaurant was founded by Richard McDonald and his elder brother Maurice McDonald in the year of 1948. They started it in North E Street in San Bernardino of California for first time. This restaurant eventually became so famous that just after a couple of months; they started its second branch in West 14^th street of the same area. The fame of this restaurant led both brother to start its franchising in the year of 1953 and it started for the first time in Arizona and Phoenix with Neil Fox. The franchising idea for this restaurant proved so good that presently it is one of the top ten restaurant chains of the world with its branches in more than 60 countries of the world.

Death

Maurice McDonald died in the year of 1971 on December 11^th in Manchester, New Hampshire in USA. He was 69 years of age at the time of his death.
