Prime Minister Scholarships 2021
Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme was introduced from the Academic year 2006-07. PMSS aim is to encourage higher technical and professional education for the dependent wards of Ex Servicemen / Ex Coast Guard personnel and their widows and dependent wards / widows of Ex Servicemen / Ex Coast Guard personnel who died / disabled in harness due to causes attributable to Military Service / Coast Guard Service, irrespective of the rank.

Other latest Scholarships in India are also offered for different degrees and subjects all over the India.
Number of Scholarships
A total number of 4000 students will be selected.
Duration of Scholarship
Two to five years as duration of the course approved by the concerned Regulatory Body (Except one year for B Ed).
Scholarship Description / Details
Amount of the Scholarship is
- 2000/- per month for boys
- 2250- per month for girls
Paid annually after selection
Eligibly Criteria
- Applicants who have taken admission in 2015 are only eligible to apply for PMSS 2015-16.
- Applicants should have scored 60% and above in Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) i.e 10+2 / Diploma / Graduation.
- Applicants who are Dependent Wards / Widows of Ex Servicemen & Ex Coast Guard personnel who died in harness / disabled due to causes attributable to military service / coast guard service, irrespective of the rank can apply.
- One candidate to submit only one application form for one course, if any candidate submit two applications for more than one course, both the applications will be rejected
How to Apply / Download Scholarship Form / Documents Required
- Applicants can download application form from desw.gov.in
- Application to be forwarded on plain A4 size paper (typed or handwritten) in the prescribed format duly completed in all respects with superscription on the envelope “Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for the Academic Year 2015-16”
- Application forwarded in any other format will not be accepted
- Applicants must attach following documents
- Specimen Copy of Ex-Servicemen / Ex-Coast Guard Certificate (Annexure-1 of Application Form)
- Photocopy of Matriculation Certificate duly attested for verifying the Date of Birth
- Minimum Educational Qualification certificate self attested, as applicable. (10+2 Mark sheet / Graduation (mark sheets of 3 years) / Diploma (mark sheets of all semesters).
- Photocopy of 1st page of Bank Passbook / one cancelled cheque leaf.showing name and A/c Number of Student.
- Self attested copy of PPO and supporting documents
- Self attested copy of Matriculation or equivalent examination certificate for verification of date of birth.
- Self attested copy of mark sheet of MEQ as applicable (e.g. 10 plus 2, Graduation / Diploma). In case the MEQ is Graduation / Diploma, then mark sheets of all semester are required to be submitted.
- Original Bonafide Certificate to be signed by Registrar / Dean / Principal of College/Institution pertaining to the course for which scholarship is applied.
- Photocopy of 1st Page of Bank Pass Book (PNB / SBI only) showing the Name & Account Number of the student.
- Application form is to be deposited by individual to respective RSB / Directorate General of Coast Guard. Applications duly recommended by RSB’s / Directorate General of Coast Guard will be considered by KSB.
- Applicants are advised not to forward applications directly to KSB.
- Applications received directly at KSB will be returned uncaptioned to individual.
