Rotary International Scholarships 2025
Rotary International is offering Scholarships to national and international students. These awards are offered for Masters Degree and certificate programs in the 6 following country universities USA, Japan, UK, Australia, Sweden, Thailand institute/universities:
Duke University and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA
International Christian University, Japan
University of Bradford, England
University of Queensland, Australia
Uppsala University, Sweden
Chulalongkorn University, Thailand (certificate program)

Numbers of Scholarships
Total 130 awards are offered every year. Up to 50 master’s degree awards and 80 certificates awarded each year
Duration of Scholarships
- Programs last 15 to 24 months and require a practical internship of two to three months during the academic break (2 to 3 years)
- Three-month Certificate program in peace and conflict prevention and resolution
Scholarships Description / Details
The Rotary International Scholarships cover:
- Tuition fees
- Room and board
- Round-trip transportation
- All internship and field-study expenses
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must also meet the following requirements:
- Have good proficiency in English; proficiency in a second language is strongly recommended
- Strong commitment to international understanding and peace as demonstrated through professional and academic achievements and personal or community service
- Excellent leadership skills
- Master’s degree applicants have minimum three years of related full-time work or volunteer experience, bachelor’s degree
- Certificate applicants have minimum five years of related full-time work or volunteer experience, strong academic background
Following people are not eligible for the master’s degree program:
- Active and honorary Rotary members
- Employees of a Rotary club or district, Rotary International, or other Rotary entity
- Spouses, lineal descendants (children or grandchildren by blood or legal adoption), spouses of lineal descendants, or ancestors (parents or grandparents by blood) of any living person in these categories
- Former Rotary members and their relatives as described above (within 36 months of their resignation)

- Two recommendations letters
- Undergraduate Transcripts
- Essays
- Resume or CV

- Applicants submit them to their Rotary district no later to due date

(A) No.
(Q) Are there some specific eligibility restrictions for this scholarship?
(A) Those who have completed the certificate program, Master’s program, or a Global Grant Scholarship, must have to wait for three years between the end date of that program and their intended start date for the scholarship. Also, candidates must have a minimum of three years of relevant work experience between the completion of a previous academic degree program (undergraduate or graduate degree) and their intended start date for the scholarship.
(Q) Is it possible for candidate’s spouse or any other blood relative to come and stay with them during their studies?
(A) No, spouses, lineal descendants (children or grandchildren by blood or legal adoption), spouses of lineal descendants, or ancestors (parents or grandparents by blood) of any living person are not allowed.
