Early Life

Sandra Lerner founder of Cisco Systems is a famous American businessman and entrepreneur. She was born in the year of 1955 on June 6th in California, United States of America. She started her early education in her local town school and later on for formal education, she joined Claremont Graduate School. She graduated from there in the year of 1970. After that, she was enrolled in California State University, Chico from where she earned her bachelor’s degree in the field of political science in the year of 1975.

Initial Career

After that, she joined Stanford University and got her Masters degree in Statistics and computer science in the year of 1981. She started her career in the age of 23 years when she joined Stanford University for further studies of computer science. This thing happened in the year of 1978 when after entering in the university; she applied for job of director of computer facilities for the laboratory of graduate school of business of the Stanford University.

Sandra Lerner is widely credited as co founder of Cisco Systems. After her initial career in Stanford University as a director of computer facilities for the laboratory of business school, she met Leonard Bosack who was the project engineer and project supervisor of the Stanford University. Both of them fell in love with each other and after a relationship of one year, they married with each other. Later on, Leonard shared his idea of starting his own business with his wife Sandra. As she was also of the same field that is why she supported him in his idea and this thing led them to the foundation of Cisco Systems.

Cisco Systems was co founded by Leonard Bosack and his wife Sandra Lerner in the year of 1984. The company was founded with its first office in Menlo Park.  The main idea behind this company was of commercializing the advanced gateway server which was basically idea of Leonard Bosack fully supported by his wife. Initially, they designed routers in their own house and tested these routers by using the network of Stanford University. Generally Cisco Systems is a information technology sector company with its branches in more than 20 countries all over the world including Brazil, Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Portugal and Mexico. Presently this company has the 72,360 employees working with it and its head quarter is in San Jose, California in United States of America. Presently she is living in her hometown state California, USA and is about 59 years of age. She has taken divorce from her husband Leonard Bosack due to some personal clashes.
