University of Bologna is offering scholarships for international students all over the world. These scholarships are offered for those applicants who want to pursue their undergraduate and postgraduate study program at the University of Bologna in Italy. This scholarship is awarded to deserving international students in Italy.
This award offers the recipient with tuition fee waivers for Unibo Action 1 and research scholarships totaling €11,000 gross for Unibo Action 2. The University of Bologna pushes the path for innovation in several areas, including its presence throughout the territory, international view, research, program catalog, and information services.
The University of Bologna is Italy’s most popular university, with 87,590 students choosing it for the academic year 2019/2020. The University of Bologna offers 232 degree programmes (a.y. 2025/2026), 84 of which are international, with 68 given in English. The university also provides 48 Ph.D. programs (academic year 2019/2020), 53 specialist schools, and 86 first and second-level professional master’s degrees, 14 of which are foreign.

Scholarship Description / Details
University of Bologna scholarships provide many grants for the applicants, these grants are:
- Annual grant worth €11,000 gross by Unibo Action 2.
- Unibo Action 1: Tuition fee waivers.
- Scholarships worth €4.500 cover full tuition fees.
- GRE and SAT scores are used to offer study grants and tuition fee waivers for a single academic year.
- Academic performance and financial verification are also considered. Scholarship recipients from the former Unibo Action 2 program may be eligible for some waivers.
Eligibility Criteria
In to be considered for this scholarship, applicants must fulfill some criteria:
- Must hold or be obtaining a non-Italian qualification valid for the chosen program.
- High school graduates from Italian schools overseas are eligible.
- Apply for Unibo Action1 & 2 if:
- A recognized qualification from a non-Italian institution is required for enrollment in your desired degree program.
- SAT /and or TOLC If you would like to enroll in a First or Single Cycle Degree Program.
- GRE if you would like to enroll in a Second Cycle Degree Program)
- Tests are administered in English and can be taken at affiliated centers globally or online.
- The following codes are required to send test scores to the University of Bologna:
- GRE: 7850
- SAT: 6993
- Applicant’s age should not more than 30 years.
- The SAT, TOLC, and GRE are ability and expertise evaluation examinations available in authorized centers in several countries and online (if offered by the management institution).You must register for the tests on the websites of the managing institutions.
- The GRE and SAT tests are in English. TOLC tests are offered in both English and Italian languages.
- Must have an ISEE score between €16,000 and €35,000 or equivalent financial documentation if income is outside Italy.
- Applicants must be under 30 by the application deadline.
- Required documents must be prepared and submitted on time as processing may take weeks.

SAT for students interested in enrolling in a first- or single-cycle degree program.
• There are fifteen scholarships available.
• The call for applications will be issued on February 9, 2024. • The deadline for submitting applications (including test results and documentation of the family’s economic situation) is May 31, 2024, at 12:00 CEST.
• The results will be published in July 2024.
GRE for students who intend to enroll in second-cycle degree programs.
• 56 scholarships are available, with a call for applications released on January 11, 2024.
- The deadline for submitting applications (complete with test results and evidence on the family’s economic position) was April 30, 2024, at 12.00 CEST.
Publication of results: June 2024
Applications must be submitted completely through Studenti Online.
Keep in mind that you must have taken the SAT, GRE, and TOLC tests before the deadline. The last day to take the SAT is May 4, 2024, with registration deadline April 19, 2024.
Renewal (For Unibo Action 2 Scholarship Holders)
• The call for applications will be announced on June 6, 2024 at 12:00 CEST.
• The application deadline is July 15, 2024, at 12.00 CEST, and applicants must provide documentation of their family’s economic situation.
• Results will be published in August 2024.
• All applications must be submitted through Studenti Online.
