University of Newcastle Scholarships 2021

University of Newcastle or Commonwealth Government scholarships is offering for domestic and international students. These postgraduate research scholarships are offered for Prospective and current research students at the University of Newcastle in Australia. These awards are offered twice (two rounds) in a year. Commonwealth Government or University of Newcastle provides a living allowance so applicants can commit to full time study.

Duration of Scholarship

PhD scholarships are for three years and Masters Scholarships are for two years, less any tenure already completed towards a research degree

Scholarship Description / Details

University of Newcastle scholarships provides:

  • An annual living allowance $26, 288 per annum
  • A relocation allowance (up to $2,020)
  • A thesis allowance (up to $500)
  • A full tuition fee scholarship (international students)
  • Overseas student health covers (OSHC) (international students)

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria of the University of Newcastle scholarships, candidates must:

  • English proficiency requirement (IELTS of at least 6.5 score)
  • Hold four years of bachelor degree and have Honors Class 1 or equivalent and a high grade (GPA)
  • No more than two full time equivalent years into their PhD or one year for Masters
  • Applicants must have a current offer of admission into a research higher degree
  • International students have a master degree with strong research component
  • Must have international peer reviewed research publication or research experience

  • Applicants can apply for a scholarship at the same time as applying for admission
  • Application must complete with required documents:
  • Copies of all academic transcripts
  • A research proposal
  • Evidence of extra academic (publications)
  • Prove English proficiency requirement
  • Copies of research publications, exhibitions or conference papers
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Details of previous research experience (research work experience)
