Utrecht University Excellence Scholarships 2021

Utrecht University is offering Excellence scholarships for international students (Non-EU/EEA countries). These scholarships are offered for those applicants who want to pursue their Bachelors and Master study program at the Utrecht University in Netherlands. This scholarship is offers a number of outstanding prospective students from non-EU/EEA countries.

Field of Study / Subjects

Applicants can choose these fields or areas:

  • Graduate School of Geosciences
  • Graduate School of Humanities
  • Graduate School of Law, Economics and Governance
  • Graduate School of Life Sciences
  • Graduate School of Natural Sciences
  • Graduate School of Social and Behavioral Sciences

Other latest Scholarships in Netherlands are also offered for different degrees and subjects all over the Netherlands.

Number of Scholarships

20 to 25 scholarships are awarded each year, divided over the 6 Graduate Schools.

Duration of Scholarship

The duration of the Master’s degree is one or two years. The scholarship will only be renewed for the second year if the student is making satisfactory progress towards the degree program in first year

Scholarship Description / Details

Utrecht University scholarships provide many grants:

  • Covers the tuition fee
  • 11,000 euro for living expenses per year

Eligibility Criteria

In to be considered, applicants must be:

  • Not the Dutch or an EU/EEA citizen
  • Candidates have a non-Dutch secondary school diploma
  • Applicants must belong to the top 10% of your graduating class
  • Candidates have completed their secondary school or Bachelor degree outside the Netherlands
  • Must be able to comply with the conditions to obtain a Dutch visa

How to Apply / Download Scholarship Form / Documents Required

  • After submitting an application for the Master’s program, non-EU/EEA students will have the option to submit an application for an Utrecht Excellence Scholarship.
  • Required documents:
  • Proof of belonging to the top 10% of your graduating class
  • Economics programs: A writing sample
    Steps to apply the application:
  1. Submit an application for a Master’s program; if you do not do this first, your UES application will simply be deleted.
  2. After submitting an application for a Master’s program, you can go to Osiris Online Application
  3. Log in with your Osiris username and password
  4. Answer the UES questions and upload the requested document(s)
  5. Submit your application
