Wellcome International Masters Fellowships

The Wellcome International Master’s Fellowships is a masters degree program. Wellcome is a politically and financially independent global charitable foundation in United Kingdom, founded by a pharmaceutical entrepreneur. One of the focus of this foundation is to grant the scholarships/funds. This scholarship is for masters degree program. The aim of this scholarship program is to offer nationals of low and middle income countries the opportunity to receive training at the masters degree level. This fellowship program is for 30 months out of which 12 months taught masters course and 18 months research project. Applications are accepted twice a year. This scholarship program offers the following grants:

  • £120,000 including salary
  • Studentship stipend
  • Fees
  • Research expenses.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to be considered for this scholarship program applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  • An applicant must be National of a low or middle income country
  • Applicant’s proposed research focuses on a health priority in a low or middle income country
  • An applicant must have sponsorship from an eligible host organisation in a low or middle income country apart from mainland China
  • An applicant must hold a clinical or non clinical undergraduate degree in a relevant subject
  • An applicant must be at an early stage in your career with limited research experience (but must have demonstrated interest in or aptitude for, research)

Applicants applying for this scholarship program must follow some steps:

  • Log in to the online application system
  • Then submit your application to your host organisation
  • The approver at host organisation must submit your application to us by 17:00 (GMT/BST) on the deadline day
  • Then the international interview committee will review your application and make the final decision.
