Biography of Charles Heung

Early Life

Charles Heung founder of China Star Entertainment Group was born in Hong Kong. He was an actor and a film producer. He was also known as the founder of two film industries named as China Star Entertainment Group and Win’s Entertainment.

Personal Life

In his private life he was the husband of Betty Ting. He married her in 1970s. She was also an actress. She became very famous because of a famous incident that took place at her apartment. That incident was the death of Bruce Lee which was a mysterious one. That marriage didn’t last for long. They divorced in some years. He married again in the early 1980s. This time he married to Tiffany Chen.

He also had an elder brother named Jimmy Heung. He founded his first entertainment industry with the collaboration of his that brother in 1980s. That company was named as the Win’s Entertainment. Their partnership was also ended in 1992.

Career in Film Industry

He started his career as an actor in film industry in 1970s in Taiwan. After his debut as an actor he also became a film producer later on. In 1984, as mentioned earlier that he founded a company with his brother with the name Win’s Entertainment. That industry became one of the biggest film industries in Hong Kong. It was one second number after Golden Harvest.

He became a film producer and a presenter of movies as well. But besides that he was very much famous for his acting as a supporting actor’s roles. He mostly had shown his talent of acting in martial art movies that was his passion.  He also did some leading roles in movies but became famous as a supporting actor. He was also nominated in the Hong Kong Film Award for his role as a supporting actor in a movie named Arrest the Restless. Apart from this movie he also starred in some blockbusters like God of Gamblers, The Prince of Temple Street and Casino Raiders.

Founder of China Star Entertainment Group

His partnership with his brother in a film studio named Win’s Entertainment ended up in 1992. Once that partnership was ended he turned to his own business and founded another film studio by himself. He named that film studio as China Star Entertainment Group. After the formation of this new film studio, certainly staff for running its operations was needed. For solving this issue he became the Chairman and the CEO of that newly born studio, his wife Tiffany Chen became its vice chairperson and administrative producer. He produced many films through this studio and he also casted so many big stars of the film industry of Hong Kong, those star actors included Jet Li, Simon Yam, and so many other famous actors. Apart from actors he also worked with the top filmmakers and directors of Hong Kong Film industry, those included Wong Jing, Dennis Law and many others.

After the success of that film studio he went on to found its subsidiary also. He founded that in 1999, with the name One Hundred Years of Film Co. Ltd. His target was the production of minimum 100 movies within a time period of three years.

China Star Entertainment Group

China Star Entertainment Group is a company of Hong Kong in the field of media and entertainment. This company is a film production and also a film distributor company. It was established by an actor named Charles Heung in 1992. Mostly the films made under this production company are related to fight, martial arts and Cantonese dialect.
