Biography of Ferruccio Elio Arturo Lamborghini

Early Life

Ferruccio Elio Arturo Lamborghini founder of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A was born on 28th April, 1916 in house number 22 of Renazzo di Cento, the Province of Ferrara which is located in the Emilia- Romagna region of Northern Italy. He was a Roman Catholic. In his early life, he had interest in machinery and mechanics. He studied this field of interest at the Fratelli Taddia technical institute which was located near Bolonga.

Early Career

After completing his study in mechanics he was given into the services at the Italian Royal Air Force. At the air force he worked as a mechanic and his posting was on an island located at the Italian garrison, Rhodes Island. That Island became the territory of the Kingdom of Italy after a war between Turkey and Italy in 1911. After serving as a mechanic in vehicle maintenance department, his job was vertically enlarged and he became a supervisor in the same unit.

After the war of 1945, he didn’t return back to his home from that Island because of the British attack on that Island. He remained there as a captive of war under the British rule. After some years he returned home and married but soon after a year or two of his marriage, his wife died in the delivery case after giving birth to a boy, his first child named Antonio.

After War Life

When he returned from prison, he again became attach to his technical works by working on cars. He purchased different luxury cars. He made many modifications into those cars and realized that so many cars had some flaws in it and he tried to remove those flaws. He also participated into many races with those modified cars. He modified some Ferrari brand cars also.

When he modified his personal usage car, his interest was developed in creating such type of car which according to him would be a perfect car into the market. This wish led him to the formation of such a company which manufactures automobiles according to his requirements. He founded Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. in 1963 for making those cars which would be better than Ferrari and other luxury cars. That company gained widespread popularity within short span of time.

Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. is a multinational company of Italy in the field of automobile manufacturing. It’s headquarter is based in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy. This company mostly manufactures luxury and sports cars under the brand name Lamborghini. Now it is owned by German company named Volkswagen Group. It is now a subsidiary under the division brand name Audi.

By 2011 this company employed more than 831 persons who worked hard and produced 1,711 automobiles. The designing, production and all related facilities are being done at its headquarters. In 2000s due to global financial crisis this company’s sales were dropped almost fifty percent.

Later Life

He got retirement from his industry in 1974. He built an estate of his own with the name La Fiorita which is located on the shores of Lake Trasimeno, a town Castigelione Lago present at Umbria area of the central Italy. He lived his later life by farming and producing his own wines and playing golf at his own made golf course at his estate. He had some interests in other businesses also which were the sources of income for him. At the age of fifty eight years he had a child.

Death

He died on 20th February, 1993 at the age of 76 years. He died at a hospital named Silvestrini Hospital located in Perugia. Heart attack was announced as the cause of his death. His body was buried at a cemetery of the Certosa di Bologna monastery named Monumental Cemetery.
