Biography of Bill Gore

Early Life

Bill Gore founder of W. L. Gore and Associates was a famous American businessman and entrepreneur. He was born in the year of 1912 on January 25th in Meridian, Idaho in United States of America. He was admitted in his local school for his early education. After that, he got his further education from a government sector college and later on moved to University of Utah which is located in Salt Lake City of the same state. He earned his bachelor’s in chemical engineering in the year of 1933.  He didn’t quit the university after BS studies and changed his field to physical chemistry. He got his MS degree in physical chemistry in the year of 1935.

Initial Career

He completed his education in fields of chemical engineering and physical chemistry and started trying to start his own career in his field. After a hard struggle to find the job, he started his career American Smelting and Refining Company which is located in Remington Arms. He left the company after a couple of years and later on he was employed in DuPont Company.

Founder of W. L. Gore and Associates

After two or three jobs, he started to think about launching his own company. That was the reason which led him to be the founder of W. L. Gore and Associates. He left his job in DuPont Company and started working on his own idea. His idea was to make his own electronic ribbon cable. His idea included some other details that were this cable will be used in computers and will be insulated with poly tetra fluoro ethylene which is also called as PTFE. As a result, Bill Gore founded his company W. L. Gore and Associates with the help of Vieve Gore.

W. L. Gore and Associates

This Company was founded by Bill Gore in the year of 1958. The first office of the company was started in the basement of in their home which was located in Newark, Delaware. Presently this company is dealing in production and manufacturing of chemicals and considered as one of the biggest companies of this field in United States of America. The head quarter of the company is located in the same city where it was started, which is Delaware. W. L. Gore and Associates is now a multinational company which is having offices in different countries like France, Germany, Italy, Korea and Canada. The company is having global revenue of almost 3.2 billion United States dollars. It was listed on the number one in the great place to work list in the year of 1984. Bill Gore was it first chief executive officer and was holding the rank till his death.

Death

He died in the year of 1986 on July 26th in Lander, Wyoming in USA. He was almost 74 years of age at the time of his death.
