Biography of Aristotle

Aristotle proposer of Classification system, when we think about science, it can’t be completed without his name. Aristotle was a Greek philosopher who is considered the greatest scientist of all the times. He was not limited to any single field. Instead of it, whenever, we talk about or study any branch of science, we find the services of Aristotle in that field. He can be said as the server of science who did tremendous work in almost every field including mathematics, biology, physics, chemistry, psychology, sociology and other social sciences.

Early life

Aristotle was born in Stagira in Greece in the home of Nichomachus in 384 BC. He was taught medicine in very young age in his own home and then when he was 17 years old started studying medicine in Athens with Plato. He stayed there for almost 11 years and was supervised by Alexander also. He did marvelous work in almost every field in his young age.

Achievements

Aristotle spent most of his time in travelling because he was not appointed the head of the academy of Plato. The reason about this thing was that he opposed Plato in some issues and after his death he was not given the chance to supervise the academy. After this incident, he left Athens. He used most of his time in studying biology in Asia and its islands. Soon he returned to the Macedonia and was appointed the teacher of Sikandar and when he conquered the Greece, he started his own school which was working as a lyceum also.

Inventor of Classification System

Aristotle has worked in almost every branch of science. For example, in biology, he proposed the classification of organisms by classifying them into two kingdoms animilia and Planteae.  He has also done some work in the field of physics but his work in this branch of science was later on replaced by theories of Newton. He also made contribution in the field of mathematics. In the field of psychology, he studied human mind very closely and raised many valid points which are still applicable. In chemistry he stated that life has four basic elements which are soil, water, fire and air. His theories about matter were later on proved practically. He has also worked about different aspects of nature which are earthquakes, winds, lightning and rainbows.

Death

With doing so much work practically, Aristotle wrote many books on the other hand. He wrote almost 80 books about philosophy and other sciences. In general we can say that he was a great philosopher. Aristotle lived for 62 years almost and died in 322 BC.
