Belgium Government Scholarships 2021 are open now. This scholarship program offers 220 scholarships for specialist masters and advanced training courses. This scholarship is offered to young professionals from developing countries within the framework of international courses and internships. The aim of this scholarship program is to develop the skills of the candidate and to strengthen the relation between Belgium and developing countries. The duration of the master’s degree program is one year and advanced training courses are 4 to 6 months within a higher education institution of the Wallonia Brussels Federation, Belgium.

Applicants can choose any of the following fields of study (Masters degree program and advanced training courses):

For Masters Degree Program

  • Specialized master in development, environment, and societies
  • Specialized master in human rights
  • Specialized master in aquatic resources management and aquaculture
  • Specialized master in risk and disaster management
  • Specialized master in integrated health risk management in southern countries (GIRISS)
  • Specialized master in international and development economics
  • Specialized master in transfusion medicine
  • Specialized master in microfinance
  • Specialized master’s degree in integrated production and preservation of natural resources in urban and peri urban areas
  • Specialized master in public health methodology
  • Specialized master in public health sciences – research methods applied to global health
  • Specialized master in environmental science and management in developing countries
  • Specialized master in transport and logistics.

Advanced Training Courses

  • Internship in quality control and quality assurance of drugs and health products
  • Internship in free geographic information system

  • Masters degree program: 150 scholarships

1 year for the master’s degree program and 4 to 6 months for advanced training courses.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for the Belgium Government Scholarship program, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  • An applicant must be residing (live in) and working in his/ her country when he/ she applies for the scholarship program.
  • Applicants must be from developing countries.
  • An applicant must be under the age of 40 for the master’s degree program and under 45 for advanced training courses.
  • An applicant must have earned a diploma equivalent to a graduate level diploma from Belgium university studies.
  • An applicant must have applicable professional experience of at least two years after graduate studies in a developing country.
  • An applicant must know how to write and speak french.
  • An applicant must apply for only one training course.
