Difference between Government Job and Private Job

Job is defined as a standard designation of a person in a particular field for which he works hard and in return gets paid. Jobs are mainly of three types i.e. government job, private job and part time jobs. In Pakistan only government and private jobs are prevalent as limited number of people are interested in part time jobs moreover these job do not offer a handsome salary package. While in western world, part time jobs are very famous as one has to make living along with his educational carrier. Following article shows comparison between government and private jobs in Pakistan.

Government Job

Posting f a person in any government institution like hospital, audit department and university etc is called a government job. It has many pros and cons. In Pakistan people chiefly prefer a government job as it is safe and sound, offers good salary packages and promotions are there regarding basic pay scale. A government employee feels prestige over a private employee. If a government employee is not focusing on his work or pays negligence towards his duties, he only receives verbal warnings or at maximum can be transferred to far flung areas. Government jobs are difficult to find and in an area like Pakistan you cannot get a government job without a strong background and reference. But once you get a job, u can enjoy it fully.

Private Job

 Any person employed in private firms, companies and banks is called a private sector worker. Private sector jobs are comparatively easy to get. Their working hours are less. They also provide good and healthy working conditions for their staff members. They do not have pay scales but they get promoted on annual basis. They can provide their members with facilities like vehicle, fuel payment, and medical grant. But during their working hours, they are very strict with their employee’s performance. One cannot neglect his duties so easily as in government job. They also appreciate their workers hard work and one can expect to flourish in a private zone job.

Government Job Vs Private Job

Security of job:

Government jobs are more secure as they cannot fire workers at once.

Private jobs are less secure in this regard.

Pay scale:

Government jobs have basic pay scales and get paid according to this scale.

Private employees do not have these scales.

Working time:

Government jobs have specific working hours and employees are free after this time.

Private zone jobs can ask for over time.

Promotions:

Government jobs have strict criteria for promotions.

Private sector jobs can promote on the basis of your performance.

Working stress:

Government zone jobs cause less stress of work.

Private sector jobs prove to be more stress full.

Facilities:

Government jobs provide their employees with more facilities like house rent, health payment etc.

Private jobs have limited facilities.

Pension:

Government jobs offer pension after retirement.

Private jobs do not offer pension.

Conclusion

Considering all the above factors, we can conclude that every job has advantages and disadvantages. One can decide between these two job types depending upon his requirements.
