Biography of Jerry Yang

Early Life

Jerry Yang founder of Yahoo is a Chinese entrepreneur and computer expert. He was born in Taipei, Taiwan in the year of 1868 on November 6. He was just ten years of age, when his mother took him and his younger brother to America. He was very week in English in his childhood despite of the thing that his mother was an English teacher. He tried to learn English keenly after migration to United States of America and as a result became fluent in English in just three years. He was admitted in an Advanced English School for his education after his English learning.

After that, he was enrolled in Ploy college of Science for his further education. After studying from there, he got admission in Stanford University for completion of his degrees of Bachelors and Masters in Electrical Engineering. As he had already studied in Piedmont Hills High School for his secondary school education, he became so much fluent in English that no one could consider him as a foreigner due to his language. In his university days, he was also member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity and was an active worker over there.

Founder of Yahoo Inc

He was studying in University of Stanford in department of Electrical engineering where he met David Filo, who was a computer expert. Both of these guys worked in a venture to create a website and as a result they succeeded in this by creating it. They created a website named as Jerry and Dave’s guide to the World Wide Web. This website was a kind of directory of other websites but as this name was too large and was not attractive at all so after some time, they named it as yahoo. This website became very popular in a couple of years and it resulted in foundation of Yahoo Inc.

Yahoo was formerly known as Jerry and Dave’s guide to the World Wide Web. Yahoo Inc. generally bases on www.yahoo.com which is a kind of research engine based website. On the other hand, yahoo server is also running an email server, yahoo answers to user’s question and much other such kind of services. Presently it is one of the leading websites of the world and comes in first 10 in ranking.

Present Situation

Presently, Jerry Yang is living in Los Altos Hills of California in United States of America and is almost 45 years of age. He is considered as a very active computer entrepreneur and known as the black magician of this field.
