Scholarship Foundation of the Republic of Austria Scholarships 2021

Scholarship Foundation of the Republic of Austria is offering scholarships for all international students except Austria students. The OeAD is the Austrian agency for international mobility and cooperation in education, science, and research. Scholarships are based on competition. The aim of this scholarship program is to help international students who want to study in Austria and need financial support. Renewal of an award is impossible, award is only possible once per category. Those applications that do not meet the requirements or criteria or are incomplete cannot be considered for the scholarship.

Duration of Scholarship

The duration of the oeAD scholarship is 1 – 4 months or 1 year.

Scholarship Description / Details

The quota depends on the budget:

  • Monthly scholarship installment: 1.050 EUR
  • Health insurance: (The monthly costs can vary; at the moment calculate 55 to 200 EUR (depending on applicant age, scholarship category, and state of health)
  • Accomodation: (The monthly costs are 220 to 470 EUR)
  • Travel Costs: Candidates from countries that are neither members of the EU nor members of EFTA, EEA, or OECD can be granted a travel allowance.

Eligibility Critria

Eligible requirements for oeAD scholarships:

  • Descendants of forced laborers (regardless of their country of origin)
  • Can apply to pursue research:

On their bachelor thesis

On their diploma or master thesis

On their dissertation

  • The age limit for Doctoral students are 40 years (born on or after March 1, 1978) for other students are 35 years (born on or after March 1, 1983)
  • Candidates must not have studied/pursued research/pursued academic work in Austria in the last six months before taking up the grant
  • No scholarships are awarded for Bachelor-, Master- or Doctoral/Ph.D. studies pursued in Austria, summer courses, language courses, clinical trainee ships, or internships.
