SOAS Research Scholarships for National and International Students 2021 / 2022

School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) University of London is offering research scholarships for Home / EU students and overseas students. These scholarships are available for applicants who are proposing to register full-time for a research degree at SOAS in UK. The aim of SOAS is to provide support to deserving students from specific BME groups within UK as well as from Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

Number of Scholarships

Approximately 07 scholarships are offered annually to the national and international students to study in MPhil or PhD research degree programs.

Duration of Scholarship

Duration of a full-time study for a research degree is 03 (three) years, but the award is renewable for up to further two years.

Scholarship Description / Details

SOAS Research Scholarships for National and International Students provide many grants for the applicants, these following grants are:

  • Provides remission of tuition fees.
  • Maintenance allowance of £17,009 (to fulfill financial needs).
  • Doctoral skill development opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to be considered for the SOAS Research Scholarships for national and international students, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  • SOAS scholarships are open for fee-paying UK / EU applicants and overseas applicants (see list of eligible countries).
  • Only new research students are eligible to apply for SOAS research scholarship.
  • Those students are not eligible who are already enrolled in a research degree program.
  • Applicants must have an offer of admission to a Research degree program at SOAS.
  • Must meet the all English language requirements.
  • Those students who are currently completing a Masters degree can also apply.
