Early Life

Suleyman Abusaidovich Kerimov founder of Russian Football League was born on 12th of March, 1966 in Derbent, Dagestan, USSR. He is one of the members of the Federation of Council of Russia. Other than a politician he is also a well-known investor, a patron, and successful businessman of Russia.

Educational Background

He completed his higher studies from a local school in 1983. After that he was admitted in the Dagestan Polytechnic Institute in 1984 for the persuasion of degree in Civil Engineering Department. In Russia, there was a law that every teenager student must have to join military for providing services to the Soviet Army for a year or two. So this obligation hindered his education for a year. But once he completed his services he went back to Dagestan State University for the completion of his degree. He completed his graduation in 1989, securing his degree in financial accounting and economics.

Professional Career

After his graduation from Dagestan University in 1989, he went on to provide his services as an economist and assistant to Director General of the Eltav electrical plant in Makhachkala. He lived in worker’s room attached to plant with his wife, by sharing one room of two rooms flat. That electric plant was owned by state and it was supplier of semi-conductors and transistors to television manufacturers. It was also producing microchips, halogen lamps, and diodes.

He left that plant in 1995 and joined another job environment. He was chosen as the Deputy Director General in Moscow and he worked there for two years, until 1997. His next job was also in Moscow, which was a designation of Vice President for the International Institute of Corporations. He also worked as a research person.

Founder of Russian Football League

He was a very skillful investor and his portfolio was much diversified. He had investments in different sectors of business, which included banks, charity organizations and institutes, and also sporting activities. He founded a league of football in Russia, with the name of “Russian Football League”. That was actually a single entity of his diversified business portfolio.

Russian Football Premier League is the football league of Russia, founded by Suleyman Kerimov. Today this league is known as SOGAZ Russian Football Championship and is the main football league. 16 teams participate in this competition. It is incorporated with different leagues of the world. Two top team of tournament secure position in Champions League. Three slots for Europa League given to next three teams. And 6th and 7th team secures a slot to the National League Championship.

This league was introduced in 2001 and within short span of time it became Top Division league. CSKA Moscow is the present champion of this Russian Premier League.
