(A) This scholarship program offers to cover the following expenses:

  • Relocation allowance: The university offers to pay for relocation allowance ($2000 for the student who has relocated from interstate and $3000 for students who have relocated from outside the Australia) for the students who were living overseas, interstate, prior to applying for the scholarship program have not studied at an institution in Victoria (within 12 months), or those who had to relocate to Melbourne to begin their course of study at the University of Melbourne.
  • Thesis allowance: The university will reimburse the expenses of the thesis ($420 for a Master degree program thesis and $840 for a Doctoral degree program thesis) when you lodge a copy (hard) of your thesis and submit receipts. Note: request for reimbursement must be made within 6 months of the date of purchase.
  • If you are given the approval to register as a part time student and you are registered as a full time student, your stipend will resume at the part time stipend rate from the date that approval is given up to the maximum full time equivalent duration of the scholarship.
  • If you are given the approval to register as a full time student and you are registered as a part time student, your stipend will resume at the full time stipend rate from the date that approval is given up to the maximum full time equivalent duration of the scholarship.
  • Fee offset will not be affected in either case.
  • If you take recreation leave (for up to 20 days) or standard sick leave (for up to 10 days) from your course (full time equivalent) per annum, your stipend will not be affected (suspended or extended).
  • Research Training Program Scholarships (RTP):
  • Covers full tuition fee for the whole duration of the research degree program (02 years for masters by research degree and 04 years for doctoral degree).
  • Graduate Research Scholarships (MRS):
  • Covers full tuition fee for the whole duration of the research degree program (02 years for masters by research degree and 04 years for doctoral degree).
  • Living allowance of $30,600 paid yearly (for 02 years for masters and 3.5 years for doctoral degree). It includes limited paid sick, maternity, or parenting leaves.
