Newcastle University offers partial scholarship offers to encourage students assessed as international for fees purposes to undertake undergraduate and Master’s level study.

  • No of awards (only for post graduate) for Vice Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships is 39. There are 37 50% tuition fee scholarships and 2 100% Vice Chancellor’s Excellence scholarships.

Scholarships Description / Details

  • Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarship (VCIS) value is £4,000 payable to the student’s tuition fee account.
  • Vice Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship (VCES) value is 50% or 100% of tuition fees

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible conditions for Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarships

In order to be considered for this scholarship applicant must:

  • Be a national of one of the following countries: India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand or Vietnam.
  • Be hold an offer for an eligible undergraduate or Master’s degree course at the University’s Newcastle city centre campus for year 2021/2022
  • Have an ability to be assessed as international for fee purposes

Eligible conditions for Vice Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships

To be considered for the 50% VCE scholarships applicant must:

  • Be a national of one of the following countries:  Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Ecuador,  India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Thailand, Turkey,  USA, Venezuela
  • Have a ability of as international for fee purposes
  • Must be hold an offer for an eligible master’s degree program at the University’s Newcastle city centre campus for year 2021/2022
  • already have or expect to receive the equivalent of an upper second class UK honours degree or above

To be considered for the 100% VCE scholarships applicants must:

  • Be a national of one of the following countries:  India, Egypt, Ghana and Nigeria
  • Have a ability of as international for fee purposes
  • hold an offer for an eligible master’s degree program at the University’s Newcastle city centre campus for year 2021/2022
  • already have or expect to receive the equivalent of an upper second class UK honours degree or above
